With approximately 460 students and 60 dedicated staff, we take great pride in the diversity that enriches our school. Around 25% of our students identify as First Nations, and we celebrate the strong cultural connections, perspectives, and contributions that enhance our school community and learning experiences.
At Chinchilla State School, our motto “Play the Game” guides everything we do. It represents our commitment to teamwork, belonging, and resilience—qualities that help every student strive for personal excellence while feeling connected, valued, and supported.
Our school has a strong focus on educational achievement, belonging, and engagement. Our key priorities include aligning our reading practices with the state-wide Reading Improvement Strategy and effectively implementing the updated Australian Curriculum in English and Mathematics.
Our school values—Learning, Respect, Responsibility, Belonging, and Safety—are at the heart of everything we do. As a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) school, we use data to monitor student wellbeing and success, celebrate positive behaviours, and ensure our learning environment remains inclusive and supportive for all.
We are also fortunate to have a very active and supportive Parents and Citizens Association (P&C), who work hand-in-hand with staff, students, and the wider community to strengthen school initiatives and opportunities.
